Moody Monday

I don’t know about you, but I am glad to have Monday’s work behind me! The day went quickly, but tomorrow is coming fast. I have a list of assignments in my head for my students, but for this moment, I am taking a brain break. 🙂

I looked at some pictures we took in Virginia and found this restful photo.

Feliz Friday

Maybe I should have written “fleece” Friday! With temperatures dropping into the forties (and below), our little Jinx is already feeling the chill. My daughter and I noticed that Jinx had cold ears, so Ysabela commandeered Boxita’s fleece coat for her to wear. Jinx, of course, looked completely adorable in it!

Jinx enjoyed the warmth from Boxi's coat.

Cooking Again!

I have cooked more this week than I have in the last month! I went to Laurie’s this evening so we could make zucchini bread. Her recipe was great! We ended up making four loaves from one zucchini (thank you, Bethany!). We took one loaf to Stacey. She was thrilled that it was still warm from the oven.

Laurie mixed up the batter. I got to "clean" the bowl!

YUMMY!

So I hauled my big carcass out of my chair and went to make egg rolls today. Was it ever worth it! I came home with the lion’s share of egg rolls because Stacey and her family don’t eat as many as we do. This time around we added more sugar to the mix, so this batch was even better than the first we made. It was time well spent with good friends and good food.

We again used pork and chicken.

Sounds Nice, But….

My Ysabela is more like me than I originally realized. She was “scheduled” to hang out with her best friend this evening, but as the time grew nearer, she was dragging her feet about it. She confided to me that she “just didn’t want to leave the house” tonight. Her friend’s mom and I just made an on-the-fly change; I went down to pick up her friend to hang out here instead. On the way back home, we chatted about how a good plan sounds great sometimes until the time comes and we have to actually do something! She knows my girl pretty well.

I like the idea of hanging out with certain people, but I have to be in the right frame of mind. I don’t know how many times I have planned to go somewhere and do something fun just to be too lazy or unmotivated to actually go do it! Once I’m home in my jammies, I have to be dragged away.

Looks like my “apple” didn’t fall too far from the tree, right?
