Stealth Biting

Our little dog, Jinx, loves to play and bite.  It could be argued (successfully) that all three dogs are spoiled rotten, but that’s not the point.  I’m usually at the desk, but sometimes I sit on the couch.  When I do, the dogs all crowd close to me.  Chance is a snuggler, Boxi wants to be within licking distance of my foot, but Jinx gets close enough to drape herself across my lap.

Normally, I start petting her.  She begins by licking my hand.  Then she starts “talking”  and play growling.  She doesn’t look like a menace with her dark brown eyes and “eyeliner,”  but she is.  Sooner rather than later, she starts gnawing on my finger.  Is there some part of her that thinks if she is discreet enough I won’t notice?  It seems my hand “accidentally” ends up I her little mouth with those sharp fangs.

She looks innocent, doesn't she?

New Clothes

Everyone knows that women love shopping. That extends to our little Jinx, too. She went in for a nail trim today at Koko’s Palace, and she ended up with a new coat. She was stressed by the nail drill, so Jordan made a good call—let her rest and de-stress so she can finish tomorrow.

Jinx looked so adorable in her new jacket that I had to take some pictures, of course. It just wasn’t fair that Boxi and Chance have jackets if Jinx was cold!

Lil Devil had to check out Jinx's new jacket.

Jinx

If you’ve been keeping up, you’ll know that we adopted dog number three not too long ago. After getting to know her better, I must say that she is one of the sweetest little dogs ever. She has fit right in with our other two babies.

With winter coming up fast, she has started shivering to make me notice that she needs a sweater of her own. Jinx has the shortest fur—and no clothes yet! If you are scandalized by this news, you’re not alone. Boxi and Chance have their own sweaters.

I made the mistake of putting Boxi’s clothes on Jinx one day. Boxi looked at me accusingly, but Jinx stopped shivering. Now, I can tell you Jinx can be quite dramatic when it’s cold or rainy outside. The last few days have been a bit wet, so I have had to literally carry her out to potty. Once there, she gets down to business fairly quickly. She doesn’t want to get any wetter than necessary! Since I’m on the other end of the leash, I’m all for that!

I guess the next step is to head to Koko’s Palace and let her shop for her clothes….

Jinx was only slightly shivering.

She's our little drama queen.

The Chicken Chick

Jinx!

If you have been reading the blog lately, you are aware that we recently adopted dog number three. 🙂 Her name is Jinx, and she’s a white chi mix with very sharp teeth. She started out on her best behavior, of course. According to Bela and her bestie Gen, the “honeymoon” is over! Last night the girls took her out to play, and they came in looking disheveled, leaves and grass in their hair and teeth marks on them! The puppy won the battle and the war!

They told a horrific tale about getting bitten, chased and mauled by a 10-pound pup. Oh, the humanity! As you might imagine, I got a tummy ache from laughing so hard. After all, a little dog like that is infinitely more manageable than a 100-pound dog, right? The girls do not agree. I heard shrieking outside and looked out the window. As a witness to the “attacks,” I can only say the kids were stretched out in the grass laughing. Not exactly convincing “victims” of a brutal “puppy attack,” am I right?

This little girl looks way too innocent to be so rotten. I think the girls decided to make up a story for my sympathy. If Jinx bit them, she was only trying to “taste” her favorite kids. That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it! Judge for yourself—does this look like the face of a vicious pup?
