Too Much or Not Enough?

The question for today: Am I revealing too much about myself or not enough when I blog? To me, that’s a fairly simple question to answer—what you see (or read) is what you get. I am authentic. There are, however, some things I won’t blog about until certain things have happened. I’ll know when the time is right. Right now, I have a balance that I plan to maintain indefinitely.

Trading Places

Would you swap places with your favorite actor or singer? Would you jump at the chance to “escape” your life and be rich and famous?

After giving it considerable thought, I have decided that, even if it were possible, I would NOT change places with anyone. You don’t believe me? It’s the truth.

It would be nice to have all the money I’ll ever need, but I like my quiet life. I don’t even mind working. I think fame might get tiring, though. I like my privacy, and I love being home and doing nothing when I’m off from work. I don’t need an entourage either!

How Has Blogging Changed My Life?

I see things with a fresh perspective now. I have only been blogging a (very) short time, but I feel the need to take pictures of everything in case I might need something special for my blog posts. I do my best thinking when my hands are busy with laundry and my mind is flying free somewhere else.

Things That Make Me Angry

1. People who look for excuses not to do something rather than finding a way to accomplish something
2. People who think pets are disposable
3. Hearing someone say, “Why do we have to learn a foreign language?”
4. People who make fun of others
5. Whining
6. Character flaws like cheating, lying, etc.
7. Uninvited guests (unless it’s someone I love–if you have to ask, it’s not you)
8. Being pressured (to buy something, work extra, etc.—I get to decide)
9. Parents who have no authority
10. People who mind my business (unless you pay my bills, stay out of my personal life)

What Blogging Has Taught Me

I have learned that the more work I have to do, the more I can get done. That might sound like a given, but not all people are like that. Many just complain about how much they have to do, but nothing ever gets accomplished. I’m the type of woman who makes a list and checks things off. I have been known to not have an item on my list, remember it and add it just so I can mark it “done.” I’m weird like that.
My mom always said if you want something done, ask a busy person to do it. A busy person knows how to manage her time to make things happen.

Blogging—Best or Worst of Me?

I think blogging brings out the best in me because I approach each post thinking, “If I were a busy person with only 10 minutes of free time, would I read this post?” I find that I try to limit my “snarky” side and take the “high road” more often than not.

The funniest part of blogging—to me, anyway—is that I like to check my stats daily. I dream of the day that all countries are “lit up” by readers! I dream BIG!

Most Like Myself

I feel the most like I want to be when I am having coffee and eating Chinese food with my best friend! Going to the bookstore with another friend is cool! Spending time with family is also great. That time is coming SOON!
Professionally speaking, I enjoy presenting at foreign language conferences. Attending fire school (as a volunteer firefighter) is awesome because I love to learn new things.
