I finally participated in a school dress up day. Teacher AJ had the idea of being happy trees, and we were. Other teachers were wearing paper trees, but our art teacher, KH, is amazing and drew our trees.
I sure was glad to wake up this morning! I was having a really strange dream. The brain is an amazing tangle of synapses, and mine integrated some interesting items from my subconscious last night to form a frightening series of events.
For some unknown reason, I had been hired to sing some Spanish songs by Selena. Like that wasn’t odd enough, I found myself searching for a band to play for me. The concert was scheduled to begin in a few hours.
For you poor souls who don’t know which Selena I’m talking about, here’s a link!
Bela and I had shooting practice again yesterday. We ended up having a “shoot out” with our teacher. Bela won. I got to shoot with my right hand as well as my (non-dominant) left. My dad would be proud because we both shot in the black. Not too bad!
Since I’ve been blogging, I have learned a lot about the world. My humble blog has had views from a few places I’d never heard of before. Today it was Mayotte.
Every time I see a place I don’t recognize, I make a point to find out about it. I love to investigate and research, so spread the word (and the blog link) around so I can continue to learn new things!
I’m sure most people know how I feel about needles. Fortunately, Ysabela is fine with having blood drawn. I leave the room every time the “mosquito” person enters the room. I know my limitations.
Due to running out of her thyroid meds, Bela’s numbers were all out of whack—totally my fault for not getting her there on time for blood work and a refill. We have the prescription in hand and an appointment for exactly one month from today. This will be back under control ASAP. Nobody’s perfect.
I had the chance to have a leisurely day yesterday. I enjoyed the luxury of sleeping late, sipping my coffee and checking email while the rest of the inhabitants of the house continued with their beauty sleep. After my initial slothfulness, I took a shower, loaded trash and headed to my only appointment scheduled for the day (unless you count a hungry horse). You may wonder why I showered before taking out the trash. Good question, but relatively simple to answer. I had an appointment for a massage at 11:30.
A lady in town operates Sandhills Horizon Massage. She, Rebecca W., was kind enough to offer teachers a free 30-minute massage! I wasn’t about to let my certificate expire! I learned that the muscles in my forearm were stuck together. I spend a lot of time writing and typing, so it makes sense. My session was so very relaxing that I plan to make it a regular treat. My daughter will enjoy one in the very near future.
